Opportunity:
RN - ICU/Trauma ICU
Job Details:
* 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Not required to take call or standby shifts
* 30-bed ICU/Trauma ICU unit with 1:1-2 nurse-to-patient ratio (90% of the time will be 1:2 ratio)
* Must have 2-3 years of experience in specialty; previous travel experience preferred
* Must have experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies, or experience with post-TPA patients
* Must have trauma experience
* Required to titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips (Unit Secretary will run strips)
* Common diagnoses include trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, ventriculostomies, and ICP monitoring
* Charge nurse available 24/7 and does not take a patient assignment
* Intensivist in house 24/7
* Respiratory therapy assigned to ICU 24/7 with Hamilton ventilators
* Floating may be required to PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surg units
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: Navy
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; PALS preferred (required if assignment extends beyond 6 months)
* Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and willing to ask for help when needed
* Unit is traveler-friendly with a robust interventional radiology program
* Proctored Dysrhythmia Test required on day one - pass/fail
