Opportunity:

RN - Acute Care / Med-Surg

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Acute care unit with 36 beds
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1 for RN/LPN and 12:1 for CNA
* Every other weekend required
* Holiday shifts required
* Occasional floating may be required
* Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
* Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
* Charge nurse and nurse aides available on unit
* Telemetry monitoring available; nurses are not required to read strips
* Hospitalist in house 24/7
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* No IV team on site; PICC team may be consulted as needed
* Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery, AMS, and sepsis
* Charting system: Meditech
* Scrub color: White tops and hunter green pants
* Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital med-surg units required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* ACLS preferred

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 36-bed med-surg unit providing comprehensive inpatient care for a diverse patient population. The unit is supported by a hospitalist in house 24/7, around-the-clock respiratory therapy services, and access to a PICC team when needed. The facility utilizes Meditech as its electronic medical records system and maintains a strong support structure including charge nurses and nurse aides to ensure high-quality patient care.
