Job Details:
* Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekends and holidays required as needed
* No on-call responsibilities
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float may be required between Downtown and Northeast campuses based on census and staffing needs
* 2+ years of emergency room experience required
* First-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of ER experience
* South Carolina license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* Free parking available with pass distributed at pickup
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Department sees approximately 110 visits per day across 23 rooms
* Required skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, CVA management, general emergency department combined adult and pediatric care, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV vasopressors, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, and triage
* Special procedures include chest tubes, procedural sedation, intubation, and TPA/TNK administration
* Special equipment includes ventilators and BiPAP machines
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
Facility:
This acute care hospital contains 75 staffed beds and operates a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 110 patients per day. The facility is both a STEMI-certified and stroke-certified facility, equipped to handle a wide range of emergencies including neurological, trauma, and cardiovascular cases. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support services are available on-site to ensure collaborative, high-quality patient care across all shifts.
