RN - Emergency Department

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with available shift times including days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM), mids (various including 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM), and nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
* Every other weekend rotation required
* No on-call responsibilities
* 1 holiday per contract expected
* RTO approval of up to 7 days available
* Patient ratio of 1:4, with pods set up for 8 patients between 3 nurses
* Patient population includes geriatric, abdominal pain, chest pain, stroke, psychiatric, respiratory, and 15% pediatric cases
* Required skills include TNK, conscious sedation, chest tubes, and central lines
* Must be proficient with EPIC EMR (required), Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing
* No floating required
* Orientation includes 1 week of NEO, EPIC training, skills check off, general site check off, position specific check off, and 2-3 precepted shifts
* MHS Tele Test required prior to arrival
* Scrub color: any color, professional
* Free parking available
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI or MOAB, NIHSS
* Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
* First-time travelers accepted

Facility:

This 123-bed community hospital operates as a Level 3 Trauma Center, offering a smaller, community-focused healthcare environment. The emergency department features 21 beds, 8 hallway beds, 5 fast track beds, and 4-12 outpatient overflow beds serving as a secondary fast track. The facility provides robust support services including 24/7 charge nurses, receptionist/HUC coverage, respiratory therapy, and hospitalist services. Telemetry monitoring is available both at bedside and at the nurse's station, and the department is supported by phlebotomy-certified ER techs, a VAT team available Monday through Friday, and critical care float staff as needed.
