Job Details:

* 3x12 hour day shifts, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM or 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
* Every other weekend call required
* 36 guaranteed hours per week
* Average daily census of 22 cases
* Call requirement: 1 day of call per week; 1-2 weekends per 4-5 week schedule
* Call schedule examples include Saturday & Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM call and various second call configurations
* Sunday through Friday nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM covered by staff; additional coverage needed only for call-ins or scheduled time off
* Major holidays covered by call shifts for emergencies only with same hours as listed above
* 30-minute response time required when on call
* Minimum 2 years RN experience required; minimum 1 year in-specialty experience required
* Must have cardiovascular and general surgery experience - CV experience is mandatory
* Must have both scrub and circulate experience
* Must be proficient in vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting
* Required proficiency in the following specialties:
- Vascular: AV fistulas/grafts, aortic surgeries/bypasses, femoral to popliteal or distal bypasses, carotids, embolectomies
- Orthopedic: arthroscopies and total joints
- General: colorectal/colon resections, laparoscopic assisted surgeries, Whipple procedures, liver resections, thyroids, mastectomies
- ENT: trachs, laryngectomies, radical neck dissections
- Urology: cystectomies, nephrectomies, prostatectomies, various implants, cysto-related procedures
- Robotics: gynecologic, colorectal, hernias, laparoscopic Nissens
- GYN: abdominal/vaginal hysterectomies, posterior/anterior repairs
* Patients served include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Scrub color: Royal Blue, White, or a combination of both
* Charting system: Cerner and Accudose
* Free parking available for travelers
* Required certification: BLS (AHA)
* WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
* Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
* Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level IV Trauma Center operating as a major teaching hospital and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH). With 838 total staffed beds, the facility provides comprehensive surgical services including cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, robotic, orthopedic, general, ENT, urology, and gynecologic procedures.
