Job Details:

* Day and night rotation shift schedule with various days of the week
* Weekend shifts required per unit needs; minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
* No on-call responsibilities
* Floating to sister facilities in the metro region required per facility needs
* Scrub color: Navy
* Patient ratio: 1:2
* Charting system: Epic
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; minimum 1 year in a dedicated Neuro specialty ICU
* First-time travelers accepted if required experience is met
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, and state license
* Trauma Level I experience preferred; Trauma Level II experience required
* Must be competent in hourly neurological assessments
* Must have experience with intracranial pressure management
* Must have experience with external ventricular drain (EVD) management
* Must have experience with subarachnoid hemorrhage management
* Must have experience with post-thrombectomy management
* Must have experience with post-craniotomy management including post brain tumor resection
* Required skills include: neuro intensive care, arterial line management, central line care, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, ventilator management, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation and paralytic management, procedural sedation, BiPAP/CPAP management, and wound care with drains/wound vac
* Special equipment used includes: EVD, lumbar drain, Arctic Sun, Camino bolt, BIS monitoring, and Cheeta noninvasive cardiac output monitoring
* Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
* RTO is not allowed during the following periods: September 2 September 12, 2026; October 25 November 4, 2026; November 22 December 2, 2026; December 20 January 3, 2027

Facility:

This facility operates a 24-bed Neurosurgical ICU and is designated as both a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Level I Trauma Center. The unit is high acuity and fast paced, caring for patients with complex neurological and surgical conditions including craniotomies for tumor resections, aneurysm clippings, seizure mapping, embolic and hemorrhagic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and neuro primary trauma. The facility offers robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more.
