Opportunity:
SLP - Inpatient Rehabilitation
Job Details:
* Work on a 28-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit located on the 6th floor
* Day shift position with nursing staff ratios dependent on census
* Patient ratios: 4 to 6 patients per day for PT and OT; SLP caseload depends on referrals with 6 to 8 patients per day in 30 to 45 minute sessions
* Perform bedside swallow exams, modified barium swallow studies (MBSS), and dysphagia treatment
* Conduct cognitive assessments and provide cognitive treatment
* Provide stroke rehabilitation services
* Utilize specialized equipment including VitalStim, Bioness, PneuVest, and BITS Visual and Cognitive Program
* Document using MEDITECH EMR system
* On-call responsibilities limited to urgent evaluations for swallow or diet concerns (rarely required)
* No floating required
* Dress code: Black scrubs
* Required skills: MBSS, dysphagia management, cognitive assessment and treatment, Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and stroke rehabilitation experience
* Preferred skills: VitalStim certification and FEES experience
* TBI experience is a plus
* Georgia state license required
* Ideal candidate is flexible, a team player, positive, and able to work independently

This inpatient rehabilitation facility operates a dedicated 28-bed unit with a robust multidisciplinary therapy team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and support staff. The unit is equipped with advanced rehabilitation technology and maintains a collaborative care environment focused on patient recovery. The facility uses a modern electronic medical records system and supports a full-time therapy staff alongside PRN coverage to ensure comprehensive patient care.
