Opportunity:

RN - Medical Cardiac Telemetry

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend required
* On-call may be required as a last resort
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 during day shift and 1:6 during night shift
* Float to other units as needed
* Self-scheduling and block scheduling are both available options
* Holiday shifts assigned on a rotation basis
* Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin, and Cardizem
* Responsible for reading own ECG strips using GE telemetry monitors; no on-unit telemetry monitor technicians, virtual monitoring is used
* Manage High Flow oxygen and BiPAP for less than 24 hours with troubleshooting responsibilities
* Treat patients with medical cardiac conditions including congestive heart failure
* Charge nurse present on every shift and takes an assignment
* Nurse aides and patient care technicians available with a ratio of approximately 12-15 patients per technician
* Unit-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
* Navy blue scrubs required
* Charting system: EPIC
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required
* Valid nursing license required for submission

This acute care facility operates a 32-bed Medical Cardiac Telemetry unit providing specialized cardiac care to patients. The unit is supported by a structured staffing model including charge nurses on every shift and patient care technicians to assist with vitals, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, and activities of daily living. The facility utilizes advanced virtual telemetry monitoring technology and maintains a comprehensive orientation program to ensure staff are fully prepared for the unit's clinical demands.
