Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
* Night shift position with self-scheduling ability, subject to change
* 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
* Holiday rotation with permanent staff required
* First to float when needed
* Patient ratio of 1 to 4
* Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (maximum of 2 attempts allowed)
* Must pass a SIM LAB evaluation on day one of orientation
* Strong cardiac telemetry background required, preferably 2 years of experience
* Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters
* Common titratable drips include Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
* Must be able to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips (no monitor tech available)
* Care for ED hold patients waiting for placement, primarily medical/telemetry patients
* May assist with ED patients including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration (will not serve as primary RN for ED patient assignment)
* ED PCTs available on unit
* No ventilator management required; BiPap and CPAP may be present
* Float to med/surg/telemetry/overflow units as needed
* 2-shift orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: Navy
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* No on-call requirements
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This acute care facility operates across multiple campuses, offering a combined total of over 90 emergency department beds. The facility is a Level 3 Trauma Center providing comprehensive emergency and medical-surgical telemetry services. The organization supports a collaborative care environment with ED charge nurses, patient care technicians, and a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.
