RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with available schedules of 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Weekend and holiday shifts required to fill unit needs
* No on-call or standby requirements
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 with nurse aide support at 1:8 or 1:9 ratio
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a telemetry nurse
* Must have cardiac drip experience, NIH stroke assessment experience, post cath recovery experience, and chest tube experience
* BSN required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Charting system: EPIC
* Commonly treat patients with CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, CAD, renal failure, respiratory failure, pneumothorax, and post cath lab patients
* Experience with TR bands and Fem stops preferred; will not pull sheaths
* Will commonly see set rate diltiazem and amiodarone; no epi or nitro on this floor
* RNs required to read and document telemetry monitoring every 6 hours; currently using SpaceLab monitors transitioning to Philips
* Respiratory therapy will manage CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow equipment
* Floating required to like units and Med/Surg; may also float to ICU if experienced
* Scrub color: Any color as long as clean, well-kept, and professional
* 2 orientation shifts provided following system onboarding
* Acute care setting

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 27-bed telemetry unit with plans to expand to 37 beds. The unit is supported by charge nurses and house supervisors who do not take patient assignments, as well as telemetry technicians and nurse aides. The facility utilizes EPIC as its charting system and provides comprehensive cardiac monitoring capabilities, offering a dynamic and well-supported environment for telemetry nursing professionals.
