Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
* 25 private-bed unit with 23 floor beds and 2 Medical Decision Unit beds
* Patient population includes COPD exacerbation, CHF, swing bed patients, amputations, wound care, long-term antibiotics, as well as some postpartum and pediatric patients
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with 1:5 as a stretch
* Charge Nurse available on every shift and does not take patients
* Central telemetry monitoring with two portable telemetry monitors available
* Social Services available on floor with 3 Case Managers
* Typically 1-2 Nurse Aides or Unit Clerks available per shift
* Lab available 24/7 and handles blood draws
* May float to ED in a task nurse capacity only
* Charting system: Meditech Expanse; Pumps: Alaris
* Navy blue scrubs required
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit required
* Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital required
* Experience with Meditech Expanse computer charting preferred
* BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required; PALS preferred
* Own reliable transportation required as Uber and Lyft services are not available in the area
* Skills checklist completed within one year of submittal required
* Two professional supervisor references from within the past three years required

Facility:

This is a Critical Access Hospital featuring a 25 private-bed Medical/Telemetry unit on the second floor. The facility provides comprehensive support services including in-house pharmacy coverage until 11:00 PM Monday through Friday with remote pharmacy coverage overnight and on weekends, 24/7 laboratory services, and excellent therapy services with patients seen multiple times daily. The facility emphasizes keeping patients local by offering robust swing bed services, with an average patient stay of 12 days.
