Opportunity:
RN - PCU Oncology
Job Details:
* 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend required
* Self-scheduling available but will be balanced to the needs of the unit
* Primary patient population includes adult oncology PCU and trauma PCU patients
* Unit consists of 18 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on both days and nights
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Oncology experience preferred; strong PCU experience without oncology may be considered
* Charge nurse experience not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
* ONS/ONCC certification preferred but not required
* Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
* Must be comfortable titrating insulin and Cardizem drips
* Common drips and medications include chemotherapy, Heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix
* Experience with high-flow respiratory equipment required
* Charting system: Epic
* IV Pumps: Alaris
* Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms with additional lift equipment available
* Travelers may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care
* Two days of unit orientation provided
* Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care
* Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* BSN not required
