Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

* Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience required; at least Level III NICU experience for 3 years or 2 years at a Level IV NICU
* Care for neonatal and infant patient population, including gestational ages of 23-24 weeks
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Block scheduling available if preferred; can work 3 or more shifts in a row
* Intermittent weekend coverage required; managers work directly with travelers to accommodate schedule requests
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* 24-hour orientation required
* Travelers are generally not responsible for admitting babies, as a dedicated nurse is assigned to that role
* May float to Issaquah or Edmonds SCN, or Pediatrics/Newborn Nursery (care for newborns and infants only) on a rare basis
* May also be assigned as a sitter for all units; no patient care required during sitter shifts
* Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries
* Required to be proficient with the following equipment and procedures:
- CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Vents, Oscillators, Vents
- Blood/Blood Products Administration
- Cardioversion/Defibrillation
- Cooling/Warming Blanket
- Feeding Tubes
- PICC/Central Lines
- Syringe Pumps
* Required skills include neonatal dosage calculations, therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP), and central line/implanted line care
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must be open to floating to different campuses

Facility:

This facility operates a large Level III/IV NICU with 77 beds and an average daily census of 50 patients. The unit provides comprehensive neonatal care with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support. The facility is equipped to handle complex neonatal cases and offers a collaborative environment with dedicated nursing staff and specialized resources to support high-acuity patient care.
