Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Telemetry

Job Details:

* Work on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
* Must work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
* Contract nurses may be floated to any area where demonstrated competency exists
* Required to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
* Must have experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, and permanent pacemaker placements
* Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications including insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
* Procedures performed on unit include IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
* Equipment used includes Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap, Welch Allen Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitor, EKG Machine, Bladder Scanner, Doppler, and Imobile for team communication
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Dress code: Navy Blue scrubs; black scrub pants may be worn with a Navy Blue top
* Must align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect, responding to call lights, using patients' preferred names, making personal connections, involving patients in bedside shift report, and always asking if there is anything else needed before leaving the room

This facility is a fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit recognized by the American Heart Association with the Get With the Guidelines - Heart Failure GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll award. The unit is supported by a tenured and collaborative team with a family-like atmosphere, and is staffed with a Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians. The unit has a strong track record of successful contract assignments, with many contract workers transitioning into full-time employees.
