Opportunity:
Department: ER / MedSurg / Swing Bed Unit
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Alternating holiday schedule (usually every other holiday)
* No call or standby requirements
* Float between ER and MedSurg units as needed
* First to float designation
* 2 years of nursing experience required
* Previous travel experience not required
* Nurse to patient ratio: 1:8 utilizing team nursing approach
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
* Must be able to titrate drips including electrolytes, hypertensive medications, IV antibiotics, and blood transfusions
* Must read and interpret EKG strips
* Work with geriatric population including dementia patients
* Provide care for diabetes, rehab/restorative care, IV medications, wound care, and initial trauma care
* Must have understanding of dementia, stroke, and geriatric patient care
* Work in critical access trauma level facility with 25 beds
* Team scheduling with block scheduling possible upon request
* 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
* Scrubs required with no specific color requirement
* Use EPIC electronic medical record system
* Work with charge nurse on each shift and nurse aides/CNAs
* BSN not required
