Opportunity:

Phlebotomy Technician

Job Details:

* Variable shift schedule, 5 x 8-hour shifts
* Earliest start time 5:30 AM, latest end time 10:30 PM
* No on-call responsibilities
* Minimum 5 years of experience required
* EPIC experience required
* Collect blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques and provide post-phlebotomy care to patients
* Receive, sort, and accession specimens, assigning to appropriate pre-analytic and analytic workflow
* Handle and process a variety of specimen types to prepare them for analysis while maintaining specimen integrity
* Complete computerized tasks related to patient registration and/or test order entry, specimen collection, receiving, and processing
* Perform basic post-analytic tasks including distributing reports and storing/retrieving specimens
* Operate basic pre-analytic lab equipment
* Complete quality-related tasks such as documentation of work and maintaining a clean, stocked, and safe work area
* Required certifications: Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) and BLS/CPR
* Phlebotomy Tech (CPT) or Certified Phlebotomy Technician II (CPTII) certification required
* High School Education/GED required
* Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred
* Experience in phlebotomy in an acute care environment preferred
