Open Position: RN - NICU

Opportunity:

RN - NICU/Nursery

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every 3rd weekend requirement with additional help filling empty weekends
* Rotating holiday schedule
* May be placed on call if patient volumes are low with only 2 RNs scheduled per shift
* May be required to float to Postpartum if NICU is closed (rare)
* Level II NICU caring for infants down to 30 weeks gestation using telehealth neonatology for 30-32 weeks and partnering with pediatricians for 32 weeks and above
* Unit consists of 11 beds across 9 rooms
* Patient ratios depend on acuity, up to 1:2/3 for feeder growers
* Must be comfortable serving as baby nurse at delivery, including attending deliveries and C-sections
* Must have experience running bubble CPAP, ventilators, and managing new newborn admissions
* Required to titrate drips including fluids, TPN, and blood
* RNs are responsible for reading monitor strips on the unit
* Charge RN experience preferred
* Charting completed using EPIC
* Navy scrubs required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a Level II NICU providing specialized care for premature and medically fragile newborns. The unit is supported by NNPs in-house 24/7 and utilizes telehealth neonatology services for the most complex cases. The facility maintains a collaborative care model partnering with pediatricians and respiratory therapy teams who manage ventilators and CPAP equipment to ensure comprehensive neonatal care.
