Opportunity:

RN - Med-Surg Colorectal

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend schedule required
* Holiday work assigned on a rotating basis
* On-call requirement may apply as a last resort for travelers
* Floating to other units is required
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 during the 7:00 PM shift
* Charge nurse present on each shift
* Care for patients with colorectal conditions including colorectal cancer, ileus, and those recovering from associated surgical interventions
* Manage additional diagnoses including osteomyelitis, sepsis, and pneumonia
* Required to titrate drips including amiodarone, heparin, insulin, and Cardizem
* Operate and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment including High Flow and BiPAP devices
* Responsible for reading own EKG strips each shift using GE tele monitors with virtual monitoring only
* Charting system: EPIC
* Acute care setting with 30-bed unit
* Unit/department-specific orientation lasting 3 shifts
* Navy blue scrubs required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS

This acute care facility operates a 30-bed Medical-Surgical Colorectal unit providing comprehensive inpatient care for patients with colorectal conditions and post-surgical recovery needs. The unit utilizes a structured staffing model with charge nurses, LPNs, and patient care technicians supporting the nursing team. The facility employs advanced monitoring technology and modern respiratory therapy equipment to ensure high-quality patient care across all shifts.
