Opportunity:
Inpatient SLP Days
Job Details:
* Day shift position in an inpatient setting
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers welcome
* Work with a speech caseload of 10-14 patients between acute and rehab units
* Average daily census of 8-9 patients on an 18-bed rehab unit
* Treatment sessions are 45 minutes in length
* Treat adult and geriatric patient populations
* Common diagnoses include stroke, Parkinson's disease, other neurological conditions, swallowing deficits, and cognitive deficits
* Perform evaluations and treatments for rehab patients with swallowing, language, and cognitive deficits
* Required skills include acute care, dysphagia management, bedside swallow evaluations, modified barium swallow studies, Passy Muir Valves, trach/vent, and patient/family education
* Additional skills include augmentative and alternative communication devices, memory aids, acoustic analysis, nasoendoscopy, videostroboscopy, voice prosthesis, and various standardized assessments
* Charting system experience required; Epic is the system used
* Required certifications: BLS
* Valid Kansas SLP license required and must be in hand at time of submission
* May be expected to float to like units within scope based on facility needs
