Opportunity:
RRT - Respiratory Therapist
Job Details:
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Work with patient population ranging from infants to geriatrics, primarily adult RRT with exposure to pediatric intubated patients
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, RRT, Georgia state license
* Trauma experience required; trauma level II experience preferred
* Pulmonary function testing (spirometry testing) experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Manage non-invasive ventilation, conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, and bedside pulmonary function tests
* Perform arterial lines, arterial blood gases, capillary blood gases, and draws from lines
* Provide oxygen management, patient education, and pulmonary hygiene
* Preferred experience with unit systems: Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea
* Additional unit systems include: Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR
* Scrub color: Slate Gray
* Work every other weekend unless specified otherwise; 5 weekend days out of a six-week schedule
* Floating required within facility and to sister campus as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Holiday expectations apply: if 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
* No time off requests permitted during orientation week (Monday through Sunday)
* 48 orientation hours required
* Interdisciplinary support includes Respiratory Services and Rapid Response Teams

This facility is a level 2 trauma center that is also interventional stroke certified and home to a level 3 NICU that serves as the regional transport resource. The organization provides comprehensive respiratory care services across multiple campuses and maintains a strong interdisciplinary support structure including Rapid Response Teams. The facility is equipped with advanced medical technology and systems to support a wide range of patient diagnoses and acuity levels.
