RN - IMCU/PCU/Stepdown

Job Details:

* Schedule options available: 4x12s or 3x12s advise preference upon submission
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Travel experience required
* Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
* Patient ratio: 1:5-6 days/nights; 1:6 weekends; 32-bed unit
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* HARD STOP: Must have prior experience managing the following continuous IV medications:
- Cardiac drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin
- Diuretics: Bumex, Lasix
- Anticoagulants: Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin
- Insulin drips
* Unit specialties include: Overflow IMCU, arrhythmia management, cardioversion, cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal, pulmonary (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, DVT, stable cardiac arrhythmias (A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia), surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomies, chest tubes, biliary drains), post cardiac cath, TR Bands, and DKA
* Occasional vascular, ortho, and CVA patient overflow transferred to appropriate unit as soon as possible
* Basic arrhythmia knowledge, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-PCI care required
* Must be proficient with TR Bands and all skills under the Med/Surg umbrella
* Special equipment: High Flow, BiPAP (RT available 24/7)
* Telemetry competency exam required
* Unit systems: Epic (preferred), Pyxis, SBAR
* Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, blood product administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, PICC line management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, pre/post cardiac cath, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Charge experience preferred
* Floating required to like units within facility and scope of practice
* Weekends: Typically every other weekend; permanent staff are scheduled first and travelers fill gaps
* Call is rare; response time is 2 hours; travelers typically do not manage Precedex
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* Holiday coverage: If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if three holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Previous charge experience preferred
