Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Travel experience required
* Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
* Patient ratio: 1:5-6 on days and nights; up to 1:6 on weekends; 32-bed unit
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Must have confirmed experience managing the following continuous IV medications prior to submission:
- Cardiac drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin
- Diuretics: Bumex, Lasix
- Anticoagulants: Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin
- Insulin drips
* Care for patients with arrhythmias, cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal conditions, pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, DVT, stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia, and surgical cases including cholecystectomy, chest tubes, and biliary drains
* Occasional vascular patients, post cardiac cath, TR Bands, DKA, and overflow ortho or CVA patients
* Overflow IMCU responsibilities required
* Must have basic arrhythmia knowledge, hemodynamic monitoring skills, and care of patients post PCI
* Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, central line care and management, PICC line management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, pre/post cardiac cath care, TR Band management, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Special equipment: High Flow and BiPAP managed by respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Telemetry competency exam required
* Preferred charting system: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Scheduling type: Variable; typically every other weekend with permanent staff scheduled first and travelers filling in the gaps; approximately 6 weekend shifts per contract
* Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed
* Call is rare with a 2-hour response time; travelers typically do not manage Precedex
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* 36 orientation hours required
