Job Details:
* Break relief nurse position with 48 hours per week guaranteed; overtime billable after 48 hours worked in a week
* Shift times: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (days) and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (nights)
* Weekend rotation every other weekend, variable based on need
* No mandatory on-call requirements
* Schedule made in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks prior to start; block schedule cannot be guaranteed
* High acuity patient types include hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections, preterm labor, insulin drips, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
* Up to 300 deliveries per month
* Patient ratios per AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum dependent on acuity
* Responsible for triage of OB patients, labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients, circulating in OR, cervical checks, and reading/interpreting fetal monitoring strips
* Expected to serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborn as needed
* Floating may occur within antepartum and postpartum units based on need
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate FHM (AWHONN)
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Equipment includes Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Covidien SCDs
* Scrubs provided by the facility and must not be worn outside of the facility
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with previous travel experience; 5+ years preferred

Facility:
This facility features a robust Labor and Delivery unit with 34 beds, including 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum beds, 4 OB ED beds, and 3 operating rooms, along with an 18-bed postpartum unit. The unit is supported 24/7 by laborists, respiratory therapy, and a team of scrub techs, CNAs, charge nurses, and phlebotomy services. The facility utilizes advanced technology and maintains staffing in accordance with AWHONN guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care.
