Job Details:
* 12-hour shifts available on a self-scheduling basis
* No on-call required
* 6 weekend shifts required per six-week contract period
* Block schedules approved but not required
* Patient ratio of 1:3 maintained across days, nights, and weekends
* Treat patients of all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Care for patients presenting with stroke, STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, shortness of breath, asthma, GU complaints, headaches, sore throat, and lacerations
* Perform and support comprehensive stroke care, Level II trauma response, and STEMI protocols
* Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, central line care and management, CVA management, isolation precautions and PPE, IV vasopressors, management of dysrhythmias, and triage
* Charting system experience in Epic required
* Community hospital experience required
* LTAC experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience required (hard stop)
* Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
* Dress code for licensed nursing personnel requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire (scrub tops may have colored piping; print tops are not acceptable)
* Free parking available in unrestricted surface parking lots designated for employees and visitors
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility operates as a 379-bed hospital and holds a Level II Trauma Center designation. The emergency department consists of 42 rooms and 46 beds with a daily census of approximately 136 visits. The facility is recognized as both a comprehensive stroke center and a STEMI-capable facility, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, transportation, and unit secretaries.
