Opportunity:

LPN - Addiction Rehab

Job Details:

* Work 8.5-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch break
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holiday requirements include 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Unit capacity is 23 patients on a voluntary addiction rehabilitation unit
* No set nurse-to-patient ratios; unit is run by counselors with stable patients
* Responsibilities include admissions, medication administration, and handling any medical issues that arise
* Common patient diagnoses include alcohol, crack cocaine, and PCP addiction for patients 18 and older
* Must be able to assess detox symptoms; MedSurg experience preferred
* Must have phlebotomy skills and experience obtaining EKGs
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; psych experience preferred but not required
* IVs are not routinely used on this unit but may be started in the event of a medical emergency
* EKGs performed by nursing staff as needed
* Floating may be required to Rehab sister unit, clinic, or psychiatry unit based on need and experience
* 5-day unit-specific orientation on the floors
* Charting system: Allscripts
* LPNs wear Kelly Green scrubs
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), De-Escalation Training

This acute care facility operates a dedicated addiction rehabilitation unit focused on providing compassionate, structured care for adult patients recovering from substance use disorders. The unit emphasizes a voluntary, counselor-led environment with nursing staff supporting admissions, medication management, and medical oversight. The facility also offers access to psychiatry services in an adjacent building, with security support available during evening hours to ensure staff safety.
