Job Details:

* Night shift position located at the Heart Hospital, functioning as a cardiac stepdown unit with a significant cardiac patient population
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* Patient ratio of 1:4-5
* Weekend requirement: As needed, rotating
* Float requirement: Yes, travelers will be expected to float to like units within their scope as needed
* On call requirement: None
* Block scheduling available on a case by case basis
* Self-scheduling
* Cardiovascular experience required
* 2 years of experience preferred; will consider 1+ years
* First time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CPI preferred
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Scrub color: Any (no logo)
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, PCA, post cardiac angiogram, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, sheath removal, telemetry monitoring, and wound care/wound vac
* Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
* Primary diagnoses include CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and cardiovascular-related conditions
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams

Facility:

This facility is a dedicated heart hospital operating as part of a larger medical center, specializing in cardiac care and cardiovascular services. The unit consists of 55 beds with a daily census of approximately 38 patients and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and transportation services. The facility is equipped to handle a wide range of cardiac and cardiovascular conditions, offering a dynamic and specialized clinical environment.
