Opportunity:

RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with available shift times of 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required, though schedule may be variable based on need
* No mandatory on-call requirements
* Schedule is made in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks prior to the start of the schedule
* Block schedule cannot be guaranteed - will be utilized to fill in gaps in the schedule
* Holiday rotation required on a fair and equitable basis
* Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; 5+ years preferred
* Previous travel experience preferred for candidates with 2 years of experience
* High acuity experience required including labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients
* Must be able to triage OB patients, circulate in OR, perform cervical checks, and read/interpret fetal monitoring strips
* Must be able to serve as second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed
* Experience with high acuity patient types required including hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections, preterm labor, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
* Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum dependent on acuity
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Equipment used includes Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Covidien SCDs
* Floating may be required to antepartum within Labor & Delivery and occasionally to postpartum
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate FHM (AWHONN)
* Scrubs are provided by the facility and are not to be worn outside of the facility
* Free badge access parking available in designated areas

Facility:

This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level IV NICU supporting up to 300 deliveries per month. The Labor & Delivery unit features 34 beds including 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum beds, 4 OB ED rooms, and 3 operating rooms, along with an 18-bed postpartum unit. The unit is supported by a robust team including CNAs, scrub techs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy available 24/7, laborists available 24/7, and break nurses scheduled twice per shift.
