Opportunity:

Peds Cardiac Prep and Recovery RN

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
* Staff remain until the last patient is either discharged or admitted, rarely past 7:00 PM
* Perform a minimum of 2-3 patient visits per day
* No weekend requirement and no on-call requirement
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Minimum of 2 Monday and 2 Friday shifts required per month
* Self-scheduling with the team, with manager finalizing schedule to ensure even coverage
* Provide pre and post-anesthesia care for cardiovascular, EP, and interventional Cath procedures
* Care for a patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients
* Assist with sedated studies, clinic visits, and cardiac surgical workups
* Perform Cath procedures including diagnostic, valves, single ventricle pathway, and device closures (ASD, PDA)
* Support Pediatric EP procedures
* Utilize special equipment including EKG, glucometer, and iStat
* Use Epic charting system (required)
* Work with interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more
* Must have strong knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
* Minimum 2+ years of RN experience required; preferred experience in procedural or pediatric ICU (preferably cardiac)
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
* South Carolina RN license must be in hand prior to start
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
* Travelers should be aware that all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)

This facility operates a specialized pediatric interventional cardiology and imaging unit with a daily census of 8 patients and 6 beds across 6 rooms. The unit provides comprehensive cardiovascular care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients, offering a wide range of cardiac procedures including diagnostic catheterizations, valve procedures, and device closures. The facility is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams, ensuring high-quality, well-rounded patient care.
