Opportunity:
Infectious Disease Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
Job Details:
* 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
* No weekend shifts required
* No on-call requirements
* This is a temp-to-hire opportunity open to local and non-local candidates
* Must be a certified Medical Assistant (MA-C); MA-R, MA-P, and MA-HT credentials are not accepted
* Minimum 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: BLS
* Required license: MA-C
* Scrub color: Any color
* Will remain at the same location every day no floating between units
* Perform vital signs including height/weight, 12-lead EKG/ECG, pulse oximetry, and vision testing
* Prepare patients for exams including positioning, draping, and recording history, medications, and allergies
* Set up and assist with procedures including dressing changes, pap smears, and aseptic/sterile procedure trays
* Administer injections including immunizations, intradermal, and intramuscular
* Collect specimens including sputum, stool, throat, urine (UA/clean catch), vaginal, and wound
* Perform laboratory tests including strep and urine dipstick/urinalysis
* Handle office duties including authorization forms, chart preparation, insurance verification, ordering and stocking supplies, pharmacy calls/patient refill requests, scheduling appointments, and telephone triage
* Demonstrate professional skills including administering medication, TB test administration, aseptic technique, follow-up phone calls, lab test review, patient rooming, suture removal, and wound care
Facility:
This is an infectious disease clinic that provides specialized outpatient care for adult patients. The facility focuses on diagnosing and managing infectious diseases and utilizes Epic as its primary charting system. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, offering a structured and consistent work environment with no weekend requirements.
