Opportunity:

RN - Bone Marrow Transplant

Job Details:

* Bone marrow transplant experience required; experience administering cells preferred
* Adult outpatient program within a children's hospital setting
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:2
* Every other weekend coverage required
* On-call required
* Previous charge nurse experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC); OCN preferred
* Perform cell and gene therapy administration
* Administer blood products and chemotherapy and conditioning treatments
* Provide supportive care administration and triage
* Access and manage ports, central lines, PICC lines, and implanted lines
* Administer IV push chemotherapy, antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals, and antitumor medications
* Manage infusion pumps and perform intravenous hydration and multivitamin administration
* Perform phlebotomy, central line blood draws, and starting and maintaining IVs
* Monitor and manage chemotherapy side effects and cytotoxic spills
* Care for patients with hematologic malignancies including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma
* Implement neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols
* Provide patient and family education and support
* Perform telephone triage
* Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams
* Michigan nursing license must be in-hand at time of submission (compact license not accepted)
* 2 manager or supervisor references required
* No requested time off during the first week of contract
