Opportunity:
Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) - Pulmonary
Job Details:
* 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
* No weekends or on-call requirements
* Minimum 6 months of experience required; 1 year of experience in an adult outpatient or pulmonary clinic setting preferred
* Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) required; Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) will not be accepted
* EPIC charting experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, CMA
* Scrub color/attire: TBD
* Position does not require floating between units; same location every day
* Open to local and non-local candidates
* Sees adult patients only; approximately 20 patient visits per day across 3 rooms
* Special procedures include 6-minute walk testing, spirometry, and FeNO testing
* Required skills include:
- Obtaining vital signs including height/weight and pulse oximetry
- Recording patient history, medications, and allergies
- Setting up and assisting with nebulizer treatments
- Administering immunizations and intramuscular injections
- Labeling specimens and collecting sputum samples
- Performing strep laboratory tests
- Completing authorization forms and chart preparation
- Handling pharmacy calls and patient refill requests
- Stocking supplies
- Administering medications and TB tests
- Conducting follow-up phone calls and rooming patients
* Interdisciplinary support available through respiratory services and interpretation services
