Opportunity:

Pediatric RN

Job Details:

* Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with option for day shifts 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or day/night rotation
* Every other weekend or every 3rd weekend requirement
* 2 holiday shifts required per year
* Self-scheduling based on seniority with block scheduling considered if it meets unit needs
* First to float when census fluctuates, primarily to NICU and newborn nursery, or utilized for 1:1 sitting
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3
* 7-bed unit; only 2 nurses on the unit per shift working collaboratively with no charge nurse
* Patient care technician available when census exceeds 5 patients
* Care for pediatric patients ages 0-18 years including routine stable med/surg, intermediate peds, ICU feeder grower overflow, surgical (ortho, appendectomies, GI, MVAs), respiratory, diabetics, seizure, failure to thrive, and jaundice/bili babies
* Required to titrate drips including Tylenol, Keppra, and Insulin (will consider candidates without Insulin experience)
* May assist with pre-op and second phase recovery for some pediatric patients
* RT equipment includes CPAP, high flow, and nasal cannula; RT available in house 24/7
* Remote telemetry monitored by staff on another floor; RNs not required to read and interpret strips
* Charting system: EPIC
* 2 orientation shifts of 12 hours each
* Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
* Any color scrubs permitted
* Minimum 2 years of pediatric/med-surg nursing experience required; PICU experience preferred
* NICU experience preferred
* Must be able to titrate drips
* Required certifications: BLS, PALS
* BSN not required
* Trauma Level 2 facility
* Acute care setting
