Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Schedule options of 4x12 or 3x12 night shifts
* Weekday and weekend coverage required with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
* 13-week contract with possibility of extension
* Work on a 34-bed medical/surgical unit with telemetry
* Patient ratios of 1:5-7 with a daily census of approximately 30 patients
* Adult patient population
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be through American Heart Association where applicable)
* Charting system: Cerner
* Must be comfortable with telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and remote telemetry monitoring
* Skills required include blood product administration, central line care and management, heparin protocols, PICC line management, wound care and wound vac, PCA management, and IV insertion and maintenance
* Additional skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, arterial blood gas interpretation, tracheostomy care, and pre/post cardiac cath care
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Attendance policy enforced - facility will only tolerate 2-3 call-offs per contract
* Permanent address must be 100 miles or more from the facility to qualify

This facility's Medicine Unit is a dynamic 34-bed unit dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions. The unit's experienced nursing team collaborates closely to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, clinical assistants, unit clerks, and patient care technicians. An acuity tool is utilized to optimize patient assignments and ensure appropriate staffing levels. Clinical nurse coordinators provide leadership on every shift, facilitating daily huddles, managing patient flow, and rounding on patients, with the nurse manager maintaining an active daily presence on the unit.
