Medical Surgical / Registered Nurse
Job Details:
* 4x12 night shift schedule (48-hour weeks)
* Patient ratio of 1:6/7 utilizing a team nursing model (caseload split between 2 RNs, LPN, and Med Nurse)
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend shifts required as needed
* Block schedule not available; weekend block may be considered and must be discussed during interview
* Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3+ years preferred
* Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 5+ years of experience in the specialty
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Unit is a 45-bed floor with primary surgical oncology patients, medical oncology overflow, and medical-surgical overflow
* Patients frequently present with central lines including PICC lines, PAC, and midlines
* Perform wound care, drain management, ostomy care, and Foley catheter care
* Manage PCA pumps and administer chemotherapy (ONS certified nurses only)
* Limited phlebotomy coverage at night
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of application; RTO submitted after an offer is made will not be honored
* If assignment includes end-of-year holidays and all three major holidays fall within the assignment, must be willing to work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must be willing to work at least 1
* EPIC experience preferred
* Active RN license in the state or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines required
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: IV Start, Conscious Sedation, Chemotherapy Administration (ONS nurses only)

This is a short-term acute care facility and Level I Trauma Center offering a high level of care for complex patient populations. The unit supports surgical oncology, medical oncology, and medical-surgical patients with robust interdisciplinary services including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility maintains high standards and strict compliance requirements for all traveling healthcare professionals.
