Opportunity:

Adult Med Surg

Job Details:

* Mixed unit position covering PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Med Surg patients
* Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts
* Weekend requirement: every other weekend; Night Shift weekend coverage is Friday and Saturday evenings
* No on-call required
* Floating required within service line and between Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities as needed
* Float units include: Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surgery, Uro/Vascular, and Observation
* Block scheduling not available
* First-time travelers accepted
* Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
* Epic charting experience required
* Treats adult patient population with diagnoses including CHF, COPD, colorectal conditions, GI bleeds/SBO, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis
* Performs and manages telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
* Provides care for bariatric surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and colorectal surgery patients
* Required skills include: central line care/management, PICC line management, peripheral line care, blood product administration, starting IVs, feeding tube care and management, wound care/wound vac, TPN titration, titration of insulin drips, surgical drain management, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
* Schedules are subject to change with two-week notice given by the facility
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation

The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and utilizes Epic as its charting system.
