Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Weekend coverage required
* Serves patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 50 with approximately 400 visits per day across 75 rooms and 75 beds
* Interdisciplinary support includes phlebotomy
* Charting system: CERNER
* Required certifications: ASCP-MLS or ASCP-MLT
* Required skills include: 24-hour urine, ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID, aerobic culture, AHG crossmatch, analyzer operation, antibody typing (tube method), antigen typing, arterial blood gas, automated instrument use, B-12 folates, Beckman, blood banking procedures, blood specimen storage, body fluids, cardiac enzymes, cold agglutinins, cord blood evaluation, crossmatch (immediate spin/IgG), crystal identification, culture plating, direct Coombs (DAT), electronic crossmatch, fibrinogen, gram stain, hazardous materials and MSDS, hormone/thyroid, hospital clinical laboratory, immunoassay, indirect Coombs test, Iris Cell, manual differential, manual macroscopic UA, microscopic UA, occult blood, patient identification process, pipetting, plate set up, pregnancy test (urine or blood), proper disposal, proper labeling, quality assurance and controls, rapid test kits (RSV, strep, H-flu, C-diff), reporting test results, reticulocyte count, review and interpretation of QC, Rhogam screening, semen analysis, specimen preparation, specimen receipt, specimen transport, stool analysis, Sysmex XM, thawing/cooling of blood products, therapeutic drug monitoring, thyroid testing, transfusion reaction workup, transmission-based precautions, venipuncture, and wet prep (WBC, yeast, trichomonas)
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* BLS, ACLS, and PALS (if required by unit) must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
