Open Position: OT - Therapy Rehab Outpatient

Opportunity:

OT - Hand Therapy

Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts
* See approximately 12 patients per day
* Treat patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* May float to Mission Bay, Mount Zion, or Bayfront facilities
* Minimum 3 years of experience required
* Hand clinic experience preferred
* Adult outpatient experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Teaching hospital experience required
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Charting experience in Epic required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), California OT License
* Preferred certifications: CHT (Certified Hand Therapist), AOTA Hand/Upper Extremity Certification
* MS/MA degree preferred
* Treat patients with diagnoses including post-op orthopedic aftercare, acute fractures of the hand, wrist and elbow, mallet finger, flexor and extensor tendon injuries, brachial plexus injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, CMC arthritis, cubital/carpal/radial tunnel syndrome, and degloving injuries
* Perform custom orthoses fabrication for post-op hand, upper extremity, acute fractures, and post-ORIF cases
* Implement post-op protocols for orthoses, protection, and exercise programs
* Provide therapeutic exercise programs and manual therapy
* Apply modalities including ultrasound, TENS, and biofeedback
* Utilize specialized skills including splinting, edema massage, kinesiotaping, myofascial release, electrical stimulation, paraffin bath, and orthotics training
* Use equipment for fabrication of custom orthoses and modality equipment including ultrasound, TENS, and biofeedback devices
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal

This facility is a well-regarded academic medical center and teaching hospital offering a comprehensive hand therapy and upper extremity clinic within an outpatient setting. The facility provides interdisciplinary support including interpretation services and utilizes Epic as its electronic health records system.
