Job Details:

* 4x12 night shift schedule
* Orthopedic experience required
* Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratio of 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
* 10-bed unit with a daily census of 10
* Adults patient population
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Provides specialized care to patients with musculoskeletal issues, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries or injuries
* Manages chronic conditions and educates patients and families on care and prevention
* Responds to life-threatening situations with appropriate nursing interventions
* Organizes care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating, and communicating with all necessary providers and leaders
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, heparin, insulin administration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, orthopedic trauma, oxygen administration, PCA management, peripheral line care, peripheral nerve block catheters, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, total joint replacement, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* 50-mile radius rule applies, no local candidates
