Job Details:

* 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
* Scheduled day off based on department needs, with special requests considered when possible
* Scheduled late stays a few times per month (approximately 5-8 days per month, used about 3-4 times per month)
* No on-call required
* Possibility of floating within Periop facility
* Block scheduling available at manager's discretion
* Guaranteed hours with the possibility of being called off up to 10 hours per 2-week period
* No weekend shifts required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius
* Required certifications: South Carolina or Compact RN License, BLS; radiation badge must be provided by parent company
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* High-volume, fast-paced orthopedic surgery center with five ORs
* Must be well-versed in lower and upper extremity Total Joints, Foot & Ankle, Hand/Wrist, Shoulder/Elbow, and open and arthroscopic Sports Surgeries
* Some limited Spine and rehabilitation procedures performed
* Arthrex Vision systems with integration used throughout facility
* Scrub ability a plus but not required
* Special equipment includes: 100% Skytron slider beds, Neptune suction, Stryker power, Arthrex integrated arthroscopy on booms, mini-C and large-C x2 each, Hanna Table, Trios Table (Jackson), Zeiss Microscope/Wilson frame, pegboard and other orthopedic positioning equipment
* Pre/Post RN responsibilities include: reviewing patient history, reconciling home medications, obtaining vital signs and EKGs when applicable, starting IVs, blood glucose monitoring, hanging IV fluids and antibiotics, administering PO meds and premeds, and monitoring post-anesthesia recovery through all phases of care
* Unit serves patients across Orthopedics (total joints, arthroscopy, hand, shoulder and elbow), Interventional Radiology (VIR), and GI (upper and lower scopes)
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 10-20 patients across five ORs
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary
* All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application

Facility:

This high-volume, fast-paced orthopedic surgery center operates five ORs and specializes in a comprehensive range of orthopedic procedures including total joint replacements, arthroscopic surgeries, foot and ankle procedures, hand and wrist surgeries, and shoulder and elbow cases, with limited spine procedures also performed. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and technology, including Arthrex integrated arthroscopy systems, and maintains a collaborative environment where RNs work closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and OR nurses to deliver safe and effective patient care. The unit includes 20 pre/post bays, 2 ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, and 1 VIR procedural room.
