Opportunity:
RRT - Respiratory Therapist
Job Details:
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics, primarily adult patients with work involving pediatric intubated patients
* Trauma experience required; pulmonary function testing (spirometry) preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, RRT, Georgia state license
* Scrub color: Slate Gray
* Schedule includes every other weekend coverage; 5 weekend days out of a six-week schedule
* No on-call requirements
* Float required within facility and to sister campus as needed
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* Holiday work expected: if 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* 48 orientation hours required
* Epic charting system experience preferred; also uses Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea
* Preferred experience with Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea equipment
* Responsibilities include managing non-invasive ventilation, conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial line placement, oxygen management, patient education, arterial blood gases, capillary blood gases, and drawing from lines
* Skills required include adult and pediatric critical care, BiPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy care and management, metered dose inhaler (MDI), weaning from mechanical ventilation, interpretation of arterial blood gases, pulmonary hygiene, and sputum specimen collection
Facility:
This facility is a level 2 trauma center that is interventional stroke certified and houses a level 3 NICU that also serves as the regional transport resource. The facility provides comprehensive respiratory services and rapid response team support across a wide range of patient populations, from infants through geriatrics. The organization operates multiple campuses and maintains high clinical standards with advanced equipment and interdisciplinary support teams.
