RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required; 5 years of high-risk experience preferred
* Must have experience in a high acuity and high-paced environment
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Float required between Postpartum and Antepartum units; may float to sister facilities for Mother/Baby coverage
* Patient ratio: 1-2 patients per nurse
* Average daily census of 15 patients; 500-600 deliveries per month; 31 rooms and 31 beds
* Must be able to function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum - hard stop requirement
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections - hard stop requirement
* Must provide newborn care including eye drops, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments - hard stop requirement
* Experience with electronic fetal monitoring using EPIC required; EPIC is a hard stop
* Administer medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Handle all types of high-risk and high-volume Labor and Delivery cases across 4 operating rooms
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Patient populations include midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Required charting system: EPIC
* Supervisory references required

Facility:

This high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery facility operates with 31 beds across 4 operating rooms and supports a wide range of obstetric patient populations. The unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The facility is committed to delivering comprehensive maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
