Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Weekend coverage required with 2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred, no local candidates within 50-mile radius
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certification: BLS
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Manage patients with diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Apply nursing process knowledge for patients across age groups including adults and geriatrics
* Document thoroughly as care is delivered following regulatory requirements
* Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, ABG interpretation, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, PCA, PICC line management, phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Float to other units required as long as competencies are met
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Must demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills
* Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment with proficiency in computer systems including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software

Facility:

This facility operates a 48-bed medical/surgical unit with a daily census of 48 patients. The unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility maintains a consistent patient ratio of 1:6 across all shifts and is committed to providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
