Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Weekend coverage required with 2 shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* Must be located outside a 50-mile radius of facility
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: BLS
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float required as long as competencies are met
* 24 orientation hours required
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* 48-bed unit with a daily census of 48
* Treat patients with diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Required skills include accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin and insulin administration, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, isolation precautions/PPE, PICC line management, phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Must demonstrate knowledge of the nursing process across infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups
* Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
* Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills required
* Proficiency in computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software required
