Job Details:

* High risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit with all delivery types and 4 operating rooms
* Minimum of 3 years of experience required in high acuity and high pace environment; 5 years of high risk experience preferred
* Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
* Unit has 31 rooms and 31 beds
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Float required between Postpartum and Antepartum units and may float to sister facilities that handle Mother/Baby
* Must function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of newborn until transfer to postpartum - hard stop requirement
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections - hard stop requirement
* Must be able to provide newborn care including eye drops, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments - hard stop requirement
* Required to administer Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Epic EMR system required - electronic fetal monitoring hard stop
* Patient ratio experience of 1:2 required
* Interdisciplinary support available including Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
* Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 supervisory references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Orientation hours: 36
