Opportunity:
Medical Technologist - Blood Bank
Job Details:
* Primarily working in blood bank
* Every third weekend required
* No call required
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Minimum 2 years of experience required - first time travelers not accepted
* MLT not accepted - Medical Technologist required
* Travel experience required
* Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
* Required certifications: ASCP, ASCP MT, ASCP-BB, AMT, or ABB
* Charting system experience required
* Maximum 7 days of pre-approved time off per contract - all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it; if two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both; if three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Required skills include: ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen and ID, AHG Crossmatch, Antigen Typing, Blood Banking Procedures, Crossmatch-Immediate Spin/IgG, Electronic Crossmatch, Transfusion Reaction Workup, Thawing/Cooling of Blood Products, CBC Manual, Manual Differential, Microscopic and Manual Macroscopic UA, Platelet Aggregation, Platelet Count, Fibrinogen, Fibrin Split Products/FDP, Specimen Collection, Quality Assurance and Controls, Immunoassay, Cardiac Enzymes, and additional laboratory procedures
