5N Med Surg RN

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
* 13-week contract or longer with possibility of extension
* Blocked schedule available
* Patient ratios of 1:5-6 across days, nights, and weekends
* Oncology experience preferred but not required
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Previous charge nurse experience preferred
* IV start skills required
* Proficiency in accessing and managing ports, central line care, chemotherapy administration, and blood product administration
* Experience with inpatient oncology patient population including adults and geriatrics
* Charting system: Cerner (experience preferred)
* Scrubs not provided - burgundy and/or white scrubs required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* ONS chemo/bio certification preferred
* WV or Compact nursing license required; pending license accepted for submission
* Minimum 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
* BLS and ACLS must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
* Facility will only tolerate 2-3 call-offs per contract

Facility:

This facility operates a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit with med/surg overflow, providing specialized care to adult and geriatric oncology patients. The unit supports chemotherapy administration and is backed by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system and maintains a strong commitment to quality patient care.
