Opportunity:
RN - ICU Float Pool
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with 36 or 48 hours per week available
* Float position - will rotate between ICU units as well as MS/Tele/PCU, Overflow PACU, and Stepdown units
* Weekend shifts required - minimum of 6 weekend shifts every 6-week period
* No scheduling requests can be accommodated and no RTO within the first 2 weeks of assignment
* Maximum RTO of 2 weeks total for the assignment
* 2 years of ICU experience required
* First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years ICU experience from a 400-bed or larger facility
* Travel experience required
* Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz experience is a hard requirement - must have performed within the last 6 months
* Large hospital experience required
* Active California RN license required - no temporary or pending licenses accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; CCRN preferred
* EKG exam administered on first day of orientation - must pass to move forward with contract
* Charting system: Epic
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, emergency medications, HFNC, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics across ICU float units covering neuro, respiratory failure, cardiac, GU/GI, and transplant (liver, kidney, pancreas, heart/lung)
* Transplant experience preferred; EVD and CRRT experience preferred
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
* Self-scheduling with 24 total ICU beds across adult units
* 2 professional references from within the past year required at time of submission, must be supervisor or higher

This is a large, comprehensive medical center and recognized transplant center offering a wide range of specialty services across multiple ICU units. The facility supports high-acuity patients across neurology, cardiac, respiratory, and transplant care lines and provides robust interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, radiology, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more. The facility maintains high clinical standards and requires demonstrated competency in advanced critical care skills for all nursing staff.
