Job Details:

* 26-week assignment with night shift schedule, 4x12 hours per shift
* Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period with the possibility of being called off for 1 twelve-hour shift per 2-week period
* Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend based on staffing needs
* Float required to lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, and medical surgical units
* No on-call required
* Block scheduling not available
* Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Bedside RN patient ratio is 1:4; CNA patient ratio is 1:6
* Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model utilized on unit each patient has 1 bedside RN, 1 Virtual RN, and 1 CNA
* Virtual nurse assists with admissions, discharge, rounding, education, plans of care, and safety rounds
* Stepdown unit from ICU serving a wide variety of patient populations across multiple disciplines
* Approximately 30% of patient population is cardiac in nature, including CHF, MI, S/p TAVR, MVR, pacemaker, cardiac arrhythmia, drug load, Angiovac, and ACS patients
* Respiratory patients include COPD, asthma exacerbations, trach patients (greater than 24 hours since placement), chronic home ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP
* Overflow coverage for neuro and renal patients
* Complicated medical surgical patients requiring higher levels of monitoring, including ETOH withdrawal and GIB
* Special equipment includes Philips Monitors in each room, Massimo Capnography, and safe patient handling equipment
* Scrubs provided by facility
* Parking is free
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of submittal
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Alaska RN license required in hand prior to auto offer; pending license accepted at time of submission but application must be completed within 48 hours of signing
