Opportunity:
RN - Hematology/Oncology
Job Details:
* 12-hour shifts with day/night rotating schedule
* Every other weekend and every other holiday required
* Will not work alone and no on-call required
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3 for chemotherapy or BMT patients, 1:4-5 for regular oncology patients, and 1:4-6 on nights
* Care for medically complex hematology/oncology patients requiring blood products, antibiotics, and symptom/side effect management
* Perform head-to-toe assessments, administer medications, communicate with interdisciplinary team, and update patients and families
* May be assigned to administer chemotherapy if trained to do so
* Utilize equipment including EPIC, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, language line, and Zebra phone
* Float to other med-surg units at Broadway and potentially other Fargo med-surg units at Med Center or South as needed
* Orientation includes 8 hours of classroom training followed by 24-36 hours of unit training
* Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds) required
* Experience in a busy Level 1 trauma center required
* Inpatient oncology experience preferred; hematology and bone marrow transplant experience a bonus
* Travel experience highly preferred
* EPIC experience required
* Active BLS certification (AHA) required
* Active ND or compact RN license required or willingness to obtain
* BSN not required
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
* Must badge in and out at facility

This large acute care facility is a Level 1 trauma center with 250+ beds, offering a comprehensive range of medical services including a dedicated inpatient oncology unit. The facility features two oncology units totaling 28 beds, with an additional 12 beds currently under renovation, providing specialized care for hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant patients. The organization supports a collaborative interdisciplinary team environment with a strong focus on patient and family communication and quality care delivery.
