Opportunity:
RN - Medical Surgical
Job Details:
* Work on a 36-bed medical surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
* Unit staffing includes a secretary every day and PRN technicians
* Schedule requires 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block
* Floating policy requires floating over core staff
* Perform basic patient assessments and general care and maintenance of wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures
* Patient population may require dialysis or PCA pumps with Heparin as the only drip
* Post-operative procedures on unit include amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
* Utilize equipment including PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
* Document using Meditech system
* Follow patient experience requirements including bedside shift report, safety checks every 1-2 hours, and focus on communication and responsiveness
* Adhere to HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
* Follow fall prevention protocols and maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
* Dress code requires scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
